Just before WWII there were hurricanes on the Eastern Sea Board that flooded 3 blocks of NY and Rhode Island.
I have a documentary that show that there was a severe store in 1938, just before the war that wiped out most of Rhode Islands houses. Similar to today.
As John says everything is repeating.
