So why would Google want to give you a car. Think about right now they know everything you do on your computers and phones. But what happens when you drive some here without reception. What happens when you don't take your phone. If they give you a car, then they have the information. I guarantee this will have/need an internet connection for updates and at that time they will download everything you did. What music you listened to, what calls you made, you you went to see. Who knows in the future there may be camera to watch you and see what you are looking at. This is a scary thought and people seems all too eager to give up freedoms.
As a Car fan this freaks me out. At first because the 1% will be buying the car, so insurance will be super high as will cost of entry. However I can see a time when if you choose to drive your own car you will be paying 50 times more than anyone else. This is bad all around for people who like to drive. The only good point is that distracted drivers will no longer be solely in control of 2000 - 4000 lbs of death steel.
